For Our Kids Burnaby Monthly Meeting

Thank you for your interest in Burnaby For Our Kids. We are just getting things up and running and we'd love you to join us at our very first official meeting.

The meeting will be a get-to-know each other, with a bit of background on For Our Kids and an open discussion about what kind of activities we could undertake as a group. We've got a few ideas, but would love to open it up to find out more about what Burnaby parents and kids want to do.

We plan to hold monthly meetings at the same time, last Wednesday of the month. What we've accomplished so far: 

Since our launch in March we've participated in a few great kid-friendly events. We rallied at Burnaby City council to encourage councillors to pass the Fossil Fuel Non Proliferation Treaty (which they did, unanimously! more here). 

On March 12, we joined 50 other actions across Canada asking for a Just Transition of fossil fuels. We met at Terry Beech's office, where the kids did a ribbon cutting for the new "Ministry of Transition" and spoke to Terry about the importance of protecting their future. The kids helped create beautiful silk-screened signs for the "The Pipeline Ends Here Rally", then joined the rally in solidarity with the Tsleil-Waututh Nation last weekend.
