COP26: Join the Voices of Parents Around the World

Even though parents won't be around the table at the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow (wouldn't that be great, though?) we can still make our voices heard.

Parent organizations around the world, including For Our Kids, have signed on to a letter that will be handed to the COP26 President Alok Sharma outside the gates of the conference on Nov. 4. We'll share that letter after it's presented so you can help share it even further through your networks.

Here's how you can make your own voice heard by Canada's delegation to COP26 - it's not yet confirmed who will be at the summit but we're betting it will be Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland, and newly-appointed Minister of Environment and Climate Change Steven Guilbeault.

  • Here's a template you can use to email them, including email addresses. Copy your own MP so they know you're watching and expecting results. Thanks to GASP for their excellent letter, and to FOK teams from Sunshine Coast, Vancouver and North Shore for their collaboration on the template.
  • Download this powerful image (prepared by FOK Vancouver with the artwork of member and artist Jana Rayne MacDonald) and share with them, letting the message speak for itself or adding your own thoughts. Feel free to share with your networks as well. Please credit Jana Rayne MacDonald for the artwork.
  • Send us a photo of you and your kids, along with your message to COP26 delegates (in 25 words or less), and we'll share them on social media and with world leaders.
    Email: [email protected]

Stay tuned for updates and more calls to action from COP26 and share as widely as you can.

Parents and grandparents are passionate advocates for their kids.

Politicians and world leaders need to hear our voices.
