Facing a critical moment with your support

July 2026

For Our Kids is facing a critical moment. We need your support.

If this were a typical For Our Kids blog post, we would use this space to share insights and lessons from the vital work our network is doing. Instead, we are reaching out today to share some difficult news about a serious financial situation impacting For Our Kids, and to ask for your help.

Through no fault of our own, a partner organization that was holding a major portion of our 2026 funding has announced it will not be releasing a large portion of those funds as planned. Details are still emerging and we are doing everything we can to remedy the situation. However, as a small, lean grassroots network, the immediate impact of this sudden shortfall has been deep.

We have already had to make some difficult choices:

  • Staff hours have been cut over the summer months to manage the immediate cash crunch.
  • Some local microgrants are no longer available, stalling crucial grassroots community projects.
  • Several ongoing campaigns have been paused, and may have to remain on hold until we can secure the funding to restart them.

Our team and the National Council are working tirelessly to protect the network and find long-term solutions, but right now, we need to urgently raise $60,000 to keep our essential work alive.

If you have ever found community through For Our Kids, or felt your climate anxiety transform into hope through our collective actions, we invite you to consider an emergency one-time or recurring donation today. Your donation will come securely and directly to For Our Kids for our immediate use.

We know finances are tight for many families, but even a small donation makes a massive, tangible difference right now.

  • A gift of $25 helps release funds for a neighbourhood climate event or action
  • A gift of $50 allows us to resume creating and distributing educational resources for our teams
  • A gift of $100 restores the staff hours needed to facilitate national training sessions to upskill parent organizers

And if you’re able to give $1,000 or more, we'll recognize your generosity by listing your name on our website.

If you are not in a position to give financially right now, we completely understand and remain deeply grateful for your time, care and contributions to our network. If you are able, please consider forwarding this email to someone in your life who might be able to support our mission.

We may be in crisis mode, but nothing can diminish our steadfast commitment to the parent- and caregiver-led climate movement.

Thank you for your trust, resilience, and solidarity as we navigate these choppy waters together.

With love and gratitude,

Wyanne, Areej, and the For Our Kids network support team
