Gather and Grow: Families Connecting for a Better Future

Join us for a free, family-friendly potluck gathering in East Vancouver to connect with other families who care about climate action, build community resilience, share practical skills, and find joy together in challenging times.

Hosted by members of For Our Kids Burnaby, For Our Kids Richmond, and For Our Kids Vancouver, this relaxed afternoon at Trout Lake Park will include:

  • A hands-on butterfly art activity for kids
  • Tips for hosting a meaningful community-building event
  • Emergency preparedness for climate-related events
  • Shared food, conversation, and community connection
  • And more!

Whether you’re already involved in climate organizing or simply looking to meet like-minded folks, all are welcome.

The agenda will follow a participant-driven format, so if you have an activity or topic you'd like to share, please bring it!

If possible, please bring your own plates, cutlery, and cups to minimize waste.

Date: Saturday, June 13
Time: 12:30–3:30 PM
Location: Trout Lake Park, beside Trout Lake Playground - please note, this is the playground behind the Trout Lake Community Centre, not the playground near to the sandy beach area.

Will you come?
