Surrey For Future is a part of the For Our Kids network! Surrey For Future started as a way to organize climate strikes as part of the global #FridaysForFuture movement and to be a voice for climate in Surrey. We successfully urged the City of Surrey to declare a climate emergency in 2019. And in 2023, we worked with the Sustainabiliteens and Surrey teachers to urge the Surrey School District to declare a Climate Emergency as well.
We monitor the City of Surrey's progress on implementing their climate emergency strategies and rally public pressure for climate-related environmental matters, as well as helping out as we are able with climate campaigns at the provincial and national levels.
We have a mix of members from all generations, with a healthy representation of parents, grandparents, and youth.
