The municipal elections are almost here and we want to help you make an informed choice when voting for your school trustee!
The potential for education to be a major climate solution is HUGE. We need to elect trustees who will take up climate action as part of their responsibility in education.
Here is part of the letter we sent to each trustee candidate. You can read the full letter here. In the chart below you will find their responses.

Letter to School Trustee Candidates:
"...Young people need to see the adults in their lives taking action to address the climate crisis. As a candidate for the position of Board trustee, you have a particular opportunity and responsibility to stand up for youth and commit to protecting their future.
We are therefore writing to ask if you as a candidate will commit to:
- Using a climate, equity and reconciliation lens when considering Board decisions.
- Supporting student voices in their advocacy for climate justice
- Supporting the Sustainability Office in its efforts to reduce emissions
- Supporting the partnership between the TDSB and TransformTO
- Supporting better communication and collaboration on climate and social justice work across all departments.
We would also like to ask how you personally will seek to advance the Board’s work on climate justice. Please note we are asking all trustee candidates this question and will share answers on our website."
