Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

When you join, sign up for calls, donate, or take an online action, we ask for additional information.  We do this to stay in touch with you about For Our Kids.

We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you.

We will not share, sell, or trade  your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill a request from you.

Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email or SMS in the future to tell you about campaigns, new initiatives, or changes to this privacy policy.

Our website may use “cookies,” widely used by most websites. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the web server that you have returned to a specific page, so you do not need to re-enter your personal information. By default, most browsers accept cookies, but you have the ability to decline them by adjusting your browser settings.

Your Access to and Control Over Information

You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time.  You can change your email preferences or opt out by clicking the unsubscribe option in any email you receive from us or by visiting the communication preferences page on our website.

Security

Electronic sign ups, donations, and communications are securely processed by Nationbuilder, a company that provides these services in exchange for a monthly fee paid for by For Our Kids. NationBuilder’s privacy policy can be found here.

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.

Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the web page.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only staff, contractors, sometimes local team volunteers who need the information to perform a specific task related to their job or organizing efforts (for example, organizing a welcome call or house party) are granted access to personally identifiable information.
