June 2021 Action

This month, we are opening the door to dads. For Our Kids is a network of parents and grandparents working together to take action on climate change in their communities. Mothers, fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers are rallying to make their voices heard and their issues raised.

In June 2021, we are strongly encouraging the fathers and grandfathers in our network to explore and share what it means to be a father in a climate emergency. There are three ways for dads and grand-dads to get involved.

1. Recruit a Dad. We are hoping to add one hundred dads to our network this month with your help. Do you know an amazing activist in your community who can lend their perspective and insight to climate change work? Have you allied with a focused father who needs a little nudge to be part of a network? Are you a father, grandfather or guardian figuring out how to parent in a climate emergency? Please help us spread the word about our important June event to unite and connect fathers and grandfathers in our network.

2. Join Together. On Monday, June 28, at 4 p.m. (PST) and 7 p.m. (EST), we invite all fathers, grandfathers and allies to attend a discussion with Minister of the Environment Jonathan Wilkinson, John Paul Kleiner from For Our Kids Toronto and Qwustenuxun, Elders Kitchen Manager for Cowichan Tribes for a fulsome discussion on fathering in a climate emergency. Please register and submit your advance questions here.
