Earth Day Grey Bruce

This Earth Day, people in Grey Bruce will come together to share, learn and celebrate everything we want to protect.

We invite everyone in our diverse community to take part in a playful, child-friendly event, including a parade, live music, art, crafts, dance and poetry. There will be booths offering information and resources on greener living, gardening, regenerative farming, mental health, nature groups and initiatives for climate action.

Musical line up features Coco Love Alcorn, Drew McIvor, the Durham Sauntering Band, the Saugeen Sound Conspiracy and a sing-along with Oh Sing! and the UkeLadies

Who: We invite people of all ages and identities, as well as organizations and community groups from across our region, to join us.

When & Where: Saturday April 23rd at the Owen Sound Farmers Market 88 8th Street East

Opening Water Ceremony 1:30 pm

Booths open from 2:00 pm to 5 pm

Parade 3:00 pm (see parade map)

Who We Are

We are a group of concerned citizens from Grey Bruce who came together out of mutual concern for the urgency of the climate and biodiversity crisis. The Earth Day Grey Bruce 22 Planning Committee is made up of five volunteers: Doug Cleverley, Doug Crocker, Joachim Ostertag, Noëlle Rancourt and Danuta Valleau.

Our goal is to celebrate Earth Day with a community event that energizes us all to take climate change action, including mitigation, adaptation, and justice.

We acknowledge that we live in the traditional territory of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation and welcome the participation of Indigenous people and groups in the event.

Earth Day Grey Bruce endorses the following non-partisan initiatives to protect our land, water, forests and climate: Ontario Climate Emergency Campaign, 50 by 30, Yours To Protect, and the Reform Gravel Mining Coalition.
