Cowichan #GreenRecovery Virtual Town Hall

This event has already taken place.

Register below to join representatives MP Alistair MacGregor, MLA Sonia Furstenau and Mayor of Duncan Michelle Staples for a conversation about a #GreenRecovery in Canada, BC, and the Cowichan region.

What is #GreenRecovery?

COVID-19 is a warning of how devastating a planetary crisis can be. As we tackle it, our kids still face potential waves of new crises - fires, floods, droughts, and global insecurity - due to climate change.

Thankfully, the Canadian and provincial governments are putting billions of dollars into economic recovery. How they spend that money is critical to whether we'll also protect our children from climate harm.

#GreenRecovery is a huge opportunity to bounce back after COVID-19 while also creating new jobs by de-carbonizing our economy and society.

This town hall will be opportunity to ask your representatives questions about what a #GreenRecovery might look like, particularly in this region. What do you want a #GreenRecovery to include?

Guests:
Alistair MacGregor, MP for Cowichan-Malahat-Langford
Sonia Furstenau, MLA for Cowichan Valley
Michelle Staples, Mayor of Duncan

Co-sponsors:
Cowichan Valley Earth Guardians
For Our Kids
