Tell BMO to clean up its act and drop CAPP!

It’s time to air BMO's dirty laundry…

BMO says it wants to be a climate leader and "boldly grow the good," but on April 8-9th, BMO is sponsoring the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers' annual symposium again, after Scotiabank dropped the event under pressure from climate groups.

CAPP is known to greenwash the industry’s activities and fight against important climate policy like the emissions cap on oil and gas. CAPP members are pushing the expansion of Liquified Natural Gas in so-called British Columbia, violating Indigenous sovereignty and driving pollution through the roof in a province already affected by huge climate impacts.

By sponsoring the CAPP conference, BMO’s revealing that it cares more about fossil fuel profiteers than a safe world for our kids. As the climate emergency becomes more urgent, it's time to drop this toxic relationship and start fresh.

Other banks have already broken it off with CAPP, so we know BMO can do the same. After pressure from groups like Greenpeace a few years ago, Scotiabank dropped its sponsorship of the CAPP conference. So why would BMO pick it back up?

You can't be a clean energy leader if you're getting dirty by supporting Canada's biggest polluters, BMO.

It's time to clean up your act and drop CAPP!
