How to Raise an Anti-Racist Child
2021 has brought an internal and societal reckoning of the racism embedded within the culture, systems and internalized beliefs and assumptions within our communities and ourselves. It's a moment to closely examine the biases and racism ingrained in our thoughts, beliefs and actions.
Parents, grandparents and guardians in the For Our Kids network are invited to take part in a ninety minute digital workshop with celebrated community builder and founder of Moms Against Racism, Kerry Cavers on Friday, October 1st at 10 a.m. (PST)/1 p.m. (EST) on How to Raise an Anti-Racist Child.
The mission of Moms Against Racism is to educate members in anti-racism, cultural competence, and decolonization so they have the tools and support to dismantle racism within themselves, their families, and their communities. The workshop will focus on the belief that we all have the power to change the world through the relationships we build with “our” children. We have the power to shape the next generations. We have the power to end racism where it starts - in the home.
During the session, Kerry will offer a Diverse Book Basket which will add richness of voice and experience to a personal or public library.
